Fun Filled Saturday

Yesterday, we had a lot of fun. I had a good friend in the hospital in Everett that I wanted to go and see, so we decided to make a day of it. My mom came with us and we left pretty early and headed out. We had a great visit with my friend (I sure wish they lived closer!) and then on the way back home we stopped at the Woodland Park Zoo. I'd never been there before, and that place is AMAZING. It's almost too big, though - we were trying to catch the 1:30 ferry back home, but there was no way we could make it through the zoo fast enough.

Allison is her mother's daughter and had to direct us where to go at all times (and it was driving ME crazy - I'm supposed to be the leader!)

She's such a goof.

It was a really fun day and I'm so glad my mom went with me. We were able to hurry home and make it just in time for a birthday party for Allison's two cousins. What a fun way to end the day - we got to spend the evening with almost all of my family....

Office Visit

I figure, I'm on a roll, I better keep it going...

Allison got to visit me at work for a few minutes the other day. She is such a goof and was totally spoiled by all of my co-workers.

Random Wrap-Up

Well, that sure was a lot of blogging. Just to finish off - some pictures (and video) I had to post.

Allison is obsessed with me taking her picture with mannequins....I don't get it, and it seems a little strange :)

A good friend of mine got married April 7th. She's so creative, and I really wanted to do something special. So I decided to do a little glass etching. It was fun and I was happy with how it turned out. I love my Circut!
And last, but not least, a video of Allison and her hula hoop skills. Aunt Julie has taught her well and she is pretty darn good....but I think it may be going to her head a bit....

Rain Day Adventure

In between the Sunday Sessions of General Conference, Heather and I decided to take the kids on an adventure. The weather was nice (in Shelton) so we took a drive to Schafer State Park near Matlock. Well, the weather decided to not be so nice the closer we got to the park. But since we had driven 40 minutes, we decided to go for a walk anyway. Of course, Allison had decided she didn't need a coat for this adventure, so five minutes into the walk she was cold and wanted mine. Also, she wanted to ride her bike on our walk, but the ground was so mushy I ended up pushing it most of the time.

We sure didn't stay very long and definitely made it back for the second session of conference - but we still had a blast and were glad we went.

Did I mention the rain was ice cold?

And here's a fun video of Allison - proving she's just as crazy as her mama!

Taking a Drive...

Having a car that gets better gas mileage has been a lot of fun. One day we decided to take a drive and go to Potlatch. It was a beautiful day!

Chris showing Allison his skipping rocks skills.

I love how she is laughing in this picture

Daddy/Daughter Love!
And here's some proof of Chris' amazing talent...

Bowling Night

We went on a family date with the Becks (and Tim) back in March. We went to the bowling alley in Elma and pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was pretty cool and a lot of fun.

Allison figured out a new technique...

New Car!

In February, we decided we couldn't be a one car family any longer. For a couple of reasons:

1 - Gas prices continued rising and having your only vehicle be a truck made for a pretty expensive gas bill.

2 - Since I've been called as Relief Society President, I am gone A LOT. It was definitely getting trickier trying to figure out how to do things when I needed the truck all the time.

We didn't plan on buying new, but in the end decided that Hyundai has become a pretty reliable brand and their prices were right. We sure do love our new Hyundai Elantra - which we've already driven 3,000 as of yesterday - yikes!
